Lia followed around him like a puppy looking around at the place. "I used to read a bit if I was good... But wasn't allowed to read much.." She replied. One master was kinda nice and let her read on ocassion. Besides that.. Not much. Lia gasped as she stepped into the room. She'd never seen so many books. Hell none even in this good condition. She went over to one side and brushed her fingers lightly against the spine of a book. "Thank you..." He was being so sweet. She didn't want to leave this room, but the tour had to continue. She'd come back later.
"We can go now..."

Razor smiled as he led her from there to the healers. The healers where busy running around looking for stuff. They where muttering to themselves as they tried to figure out what to do. A few soldiers were on the table and sadly about to die. One troop's face was rotting off, another had their skin turning colors as it was dying, and another...Well it looked like it had a living organism making it's nest in his skull.
"Sorry... It's not very nice to look at," he said as she watched them with him. "These are the troops that defend us..and the price they pay..."

Lia left the comfort of the library reluctant to even go with him after seeing that. She knew enough to know how to read and write from when she was really small and her parents gave some attempt in raising her. It was too cruel to be snatched away from here, but he had better things to do than show her around. The quicker they got it over with, the quicker he could do what he needed to and she could flee to that room.
But what she came to next, she didn't expect at all. Lia's face contorted as she gasped at the sight of the soldiers. None of it was pretty and none she expected to see in a place so beautiful. She jumped back from the room, not wanting to linger around here much. It was just too gruesome for her. She backed up into him, hiding behind his arms as she watched in horror. This was their price... It all seemed too cruel. She laid a hand around his arm for comfort, peaking from the boundaries of his shoulders. It was like she was a child using him to hide. She didn't want to be here but wouldn't tell him.

Razor turned around hugging her not expecting her reaction to be this strong. "I'm sorry... I didn't think it would be that hard," he said as he pulled her into him. "We can leave anywhere you want..." He smiled covering the scene from her as he pulled her from the room and shut the door. "I do'nt care what it is.. Just tell me..." He held her close careful not to do anything bad to her. He didn't want to hurt her at all... or ever. "Please... tell me"

The sudden movement scared the girl even more. She frightened thinking she did something wrong once more to upset him. Her body tensed, teeth clenched. All she was waiting for was the smack and throw across the room... but it never came. She looked up at him with doe eyes lost as to why he was holding her. Was he not going to punish her? She couldn't move or even look past him at the people in room, but it was okay. She didn't want to see it.
"..I don't like to see others suffer..." she barely whispered lowering her gaze to look at his chest. She didn't want to meet his gaze. She loosened up a little bit realizing he wouldn't hurt her and tried to get adjusted to him even touching her in a way that wasn't sexual or hurtful. It was strange. "...Can we go back to the library?" She wanted to take a book so she could try to read in bed later.

"Go ahead and go," he said patting her head and smiling. "I'll come check on you soon okay? Just... Let me check on my soldiers.. It was my fault.. I need to make sure they are okay..." He gave her a sad look... it wasn't his fault, but he blamed himself for what became of them. He had to make sure they were okay.. He couldn't leave them hanging after that...

Lia looked up at him and nodded. She could see the sorrow in him and knew better than to pry about it. She remembered vaguely when she had last seen him and his men. So much had changed since then. "Thank you for showing me around Razor... Take your time. I know you have more important things to do. I'll see you around..." She gave him a soft smile and didn't linger for long. She scampered off to find the library once more and curl up with a book. She finally could read. She got to rest in her own bed, had a full plate of food, and even got a gift. It was the best day she'd had as far back as she could remember.

Razor left her alone for while and watched his troops. He sighed as the healer said there was nothing more they could do and he was going to die. Razor bowed his head and shuddered knowing that could have been. He left about two hours later and walked to the libray. "Lia? ... You in here?"

Lia was curled up in a chair off in the corner. She was more comfortable towards the perimeters of rooms rather than in the middle. It made her less seen. She was nuzzled into herself with the book propped up on her lap near her hip while her head rested against against the crevasse between the back of the chair and the armrest. She was half asleep, but still conscious enough to hear her name.
"Hmmm?" she hummed poking her head up a bit from behind her legs. She yawned, rather tired after being here for so long. How long had it even been? She yawned again and tried to fix her eyes on the direction she heard her name come from.

He walked towards her, a small smile on her face, but it was slowly fading. The boy was going to die soon. He wasn't sure why it bothered him so much but it did. He looked at her with what would have been something akin to crying for him. Pain wanting help, but unable to say as he smiled at her trying to shove his emotions far away. "I see you didn't take long to enjoy a book. Might I ask what you're reading?"
Razor wanted her to distract him.

She missed the pain in his demeanor as she tried to wake up a bit more. She yawned again, fixing her eyes on him once it was over. He was coming towards her which would have normally freaked her out, but she was tired and talking to her normally. It soothed her. "Umm... I grabbed a story book..." She replied, trailing off as she realized how childish it was for her to be reading old fables meant for children. Her parents never indulged her like this so she didn't know them. Her cheeks tinted a bit realizing her mistake. She wasn't supposed to still be here when he found her. She meant to leave but the stories put her to sleep.
Lia closed the book, sitting back up as she tried to move the color from her cheeks. "...Have any books you suggest reading?"

"Books? me? No... I wasn't allowed to read anything that wasn't set to make me be a royal lord one day," he told her as he looked at her curious as to why those stories interested her. Not so much caring that she was reading it. He cared more that she was at least somewhat happy and acting more normal to him. "I...heard stories, but those were folk tales told aloud."
Razor smiled as he crossed the room to her and smiled. "Thank you...for being happy..." He smiled and looked down at her. "As long as you're enjoying yourself... That's all that matters."

She looked up at him curious what those kinds of books could even hold. It wasn't like she could probably ever read those. She was as far from royal as could be. Hell, she shouldn't even be here with him yet here he was holding a conversation with her. It still didn't make sense to her. The folk stories were interesting. She vaguely remembered one or two from her small time when she was free.. "Have any you could share," she asked curiously.
But her nerves came back to her as she saw him come close to her. She watched him intently making sure he wasn't going to make a wrong move, but he quickly derailed her. He was thanking her... for being happy? She looked to him wide-eyed, color once more returning to her cheeks. No one thanked her... not unless she actually did something for them and even then it wasn't really what she wanted to do. This was just for existing... He made no sense. "Thank you for being nice to me...."

Razor smiled and nodded. "It's how people are suppose to be," he said as he looked at her. "People are suppose to be nice to others..." He looked at her confused. Was it really this bad for her? He didn't like to think it was.... He wish it had been easier for her, but he couldn't fix that. He couldn't change the past. He didn't have that kind of power.
"I don't know if you'd like them..They're on ruling and other boring thigns I'm afraid," he told her sadly as he took a chair nearby. "Keep reading.. I"m just here to make sure you're okay..."

Her eyes mirrored the same confusion he had when it came to kindness. "...I've never known it.." she whispered faintly, her eyes glassing over a bit. It wasn't something that existed in her world. Kindness only resulted in wanting something in return and it never ended well for her... She hoped this wouldn't turn out like that. So far things were okay. She'd do anything to stay on his good side and keep this friendliness.
She snapped out of it and settled into her chair more as she watched him join her. She watched him with curiosity, keeping the book on her lap. "I don't mind listening.. I never got to listen to anything like that before.." She knew nothing about the outside world. She only knew hers which wasn't exactly a step above the war and bloodshed he knew of.
