Setting
Hidden in the Silvius Mountains in a valley are the towns of Tirial and Vera. Secluded from most of humanity, the Silvius Mountains provide the perfect oasis for those who wish to stay hidden. The trees are sparse the closer to the top but by the base is a forest engulfing the major towns. Smaller towns scattered the area though they often are clusters of homes. Separating the two towns is a river flowing through from the top of the mountain. The river pools out into a small lake near the town of Muir located between the two major towns. At the end of the lake it waterfalls into the river that continues to divide the two major towns. While at most times of the day it is safe to cross with little trouble, it is not uncommon for it to have a strong current. At its worst, the river is able to push even the heaviest of cars.
Each of the major towns ascend into the mountains where the cliffs overlook each of the respected towns. The higher to the top, the more difficult it is to climb and be able to sustain a comfortable spot to even rest. Those not well equipped will not be able to get passed "The Ridge." The Ridge is a local hotspot to both towns where teens and even adults go to look over the edge of the cliff. It is not accessible by driving but there is a location lower down to park a car with a small walk up to get to The Ridge. Higher up on the mountains are more cliffs only accessible to werewolves due to the difficulty getting there. Some humans are able to with the proper equipment, but few dare to. Because only werewolves mainly are able to trek on the higher parts of the mountains, there are a few caverns who sell specialty items meant for werewolves. Other locations are also found in Muir. While the mountains secluded the towns from the rest of humanity, it does not escape the seasons. The valley experiences all four seasons year around.
The Towns
Tirial
The people in Tirial tend to keep to themselves more than speak to one another. While they are not rude to one another, Tirial folks stick to the network of people they know rather than trying to get to know the rest of the town. Many are local store owners for small business around town or work in Muir.
Vera
A bit opposite from Tirial, the Vera people are a bit closer especially the pack members. The older generation stay together more and are often seen together around town. Many Vera citizens can be found smiling at each other and exchanging greetings.
Muir
It is forbidden to fight with a pack member from the opposite pack in Muir. Should two opposite pack members fight or cause drama, there is severe punishment. No matter who the offense belongs to, both members who decide to fight on this neutral land are subject to punishment by both Alphas. The Alphas together can come up with a punishment for the guilty parties or separately depending on the offense.
The Gods
There are two gods to whom the werewolves worship in some shape or form. Both together are the overseers of the two packs' welfare. Some say the gods have abandoned them for allowing the once prosperous pack to separate into two. Those from Tirial have lost their belief in the gods because they were the main pack. Some of the Vera werewolves disagree with the split and pray to the Gods for the packs to be united once more. It is said that should the Gods intervene, the fate of the packs would be unpredictable.
Karan
Karan is similar to Father Time. He is the time keeper of the realm as well as the god of war. Despite the battle aspects, he is well grounded and has Aditi to balance him out. The god is a large dark blue-grey wolf with a black top on his back that blends into the rest of his boy. His muzzle as well as his feet and tail tip are frosted in white like snow. If looked at his pelt closely, there are patches of dark blue and purple that make his fur appear as if it is the night sky. His pelt is scattered in pure white dots that appear as if they are stars on his pelt. His eyes are a cool steel blue. Karan is the patron of the alphas. He is the god most alphas will turn to, to ask for favors or for guidance. His symbol is the moon.
Aditi
Aditi is similar to Mother Nature. She is the creator of all the land, fauna, and animals even down to the oddly colored creatures who roam the land as well as the goddess of wisdom. The female is a light golden beige steppe wolf with a white underbelly. The back of her neck down her back is a light orange-brown that transitions into her normal golden beige body. The tips of her ears are also the same dark shade. Her muzzle is dipped in a bright red color along with two thin parallel lines running on either side of her spine. Her eyes are a bright amber. Aditi is the patron of the female wolves. She is the the god the females will turn to, to pray for their needs. It is said that she determines a female's fertility. Legend has it that if a female is infertile, she did something to anger the God and must try to get back in her good graces. Her symbol is the sun.
The Fauna & Animals
Fauna
The fauna found here is pretty standard compared to the animals. They are the typical green-leafed variety that fall to the ground when the weather becomes too cold. Wolfsbane is common to the area much to the werewolves' disdain because they are located in the mountains. Located closer to Muir are birchwood trees. Uncommon to most areas, the trees have a life of their own. While most grow straight up, some have been found to contort and create arches or twine with other trees. In most of the valley it is common to find some areas where flowers grow abundant, even dominating fields. This is more common in Vera than in Tirial though Muir has a decent amount itself.
Animals
The animals found here are not the typical ones accustomed to mankind. Each animal is marked in an unnatural color not typically found in nature beyond the walls of the mountains. It is a genetic mutation causing some of the pigmentations to alter to create these extravagant colors. It is not known what has caused the animals to undergo this, but all creatures are marked whether it be their eye colors or a pelt color. It is common for animals to sport one color, maybe two but anymore are said to be cursed. Any animal that has more than two unnatural colors are to be left alone and to stay as far away from as possible. Even those with two colors are often avoided in fear that they might be cursed as well. This goes for the werewolves as well.
